Welcome and Connect Chairperson Job Description

We want everyone who comes to Spring Creek to feel welcome and accepted. We want people to feel noticed when they are present and missed when they are absent. We want people to be connected to each other and to the mission of our church. The goal of this team is to help create that open, welcoming atmosphere and to help people find ways to connect to our community.

Responsibilities of the Chairperson:
Recruit and organize volunteers who will meet and welcome visitors and members on Sunday mornings
Develop ideas for events to bring people together for fellowship
Plan activities that will help people feel welcome
Arrange special church-wide events and invite volunteers to carry out the events
Attend monthly Church Council meetings to report on the status of the ministry

Sunday Morning Welcome: Doesn’t it make you feel good to be greeted by name? As we return to in-person worship Amy Anderson and her team see to it that there is someone on the sidewalk to greet you, that you get a nametag, and that someone is on hand to welcome first-time visitors personally with a gift to say hello. Amy is happy to have new volunteers so please contact her to find out how you can help.

Sunday Morning Coffee and Cookies: As COVID restrictions begin to ease, we will return to “social time” before each service. People can grab a cup of coffee, juice, or tea and a sweet treat and spend a little time visiting and getting to know each other better. We need cookie bakers and volunteers willing to make coffee and set up before each service on a rotating basis. Amy Anderson welcomes anyone who would like more information email Amy
