Brian Heyne
Men’s Ministry
Men’s Ministry Chairman Job Description
Spring Creek Men’s Ministry
works to meet men where they are in their spiritual lives and offers them a
framework to move forward in their spiritual journey. I invite you to join us
if you are seeking to know Jesus Christ better. We also have opportunities for
good Christian fellowship and opportunities to serve with a great group of men.
Responsibilities
of the Chairman:
Work in collaboration with pastors and staff to develop programs to provide spiritual growth opportunities to men of all ages
Develop and support opportunities for men to be in service in the community
Create opportunities for fellowship
Work with leaders of other ministries to develop and support ways for men to be involved in the total ministry of the church
Keep men of the church informed about men’s activities and occasions for service and spiritual growth
Attend monthly Church Council meetings and report on the ministry’s status
Monday Book Study: Dave Hamann leads a great group of men through a weekly discussion
of relevant writings by great theologians. Our goal is intentional spiritual
growth through study, fellowship, and prayer.
Topics vary by book but always center
around scripture and our roles as Christians. NO EXPERIENCE OR PRIOR KNOWLEDGE
NEEDED! We meet every Monday evening at 6:30 in the Fellowship Building on the
church campus. Contact Brian Heyne or Dave Hamann.
Annual Walk to Emmaus: This 3-day spiritual renewal retreat for men
is held in April at the Omega Center in Boerne. For more information regarding attending or sponsoring someone to
attend, don't hesitate to get in touch with Ron
Hubbard or Frank Ritchie.
Men’s Retreat: Our annual retreat is back after COVID. We are scheduled for Oct 29-31, 2021, at the
MO Ranch Retreat center in Hunt, Texas.
Frank Ritchie has put
together an exciting plan for worship and fellowship
We will start in the
evening on Friday and close around noon on Sunday. Volunteers are needed and
appreciated. Contact Brian Heyne for more information.
Spiritual Growth/Study: If you would like more information about current or
upcoming studies or have an idea about starting a new one for men, contact Pastor Frank Ritchie.
Holy Smokers: Like
to fire up that grill? Then you will love being part of this group of men who
gather at Spring Creek to grill up “good eats” for church
fellowship events or mission events. For more information contact David Otstott.
Men’s Breakfast: Our
monthly Men’s Breakfast meets at 7:00 a.m. on the 1st Friday of the
month at Las Palapas Restaurant in Leon Springs. We'd be happy to have you join us for
fellowship, a devotional, and some discussion (and a delicious breakfast)! No
reservation is necessary. Contact __________with any questions.
Home Disciples: This group of men helps those who need home repair, yard work, or the
like. Perhaps the individual has become sick, or recently had a baby, or is
elderly. Whatever the reason, Home Disciples are there to help. Contact Freddie Loeber to get involved.
Flower Delivery: If
you have a pickup or SUV and 30 minutes on a Monday mornings, we can use your
help. We need two men per week to pick up flowers at HEB in Boerne at 10 am for
delivery to Morningside Ministries at Menger Springs. It takes about ½ hour
from start to finish, and you'll make some new friends. At most, only two men
are needed per delivery, but this is a recurring event. Contact Brian Heyne to
pick a date and sign on.
Thanksgiving Turkey Fry: On the day before Thanksgiving, we join the
Christian Men of Boerne at the Kendall Country Fairgrounds to fry dozens of
turkeys. Then we pack Thanksgiving food boxes for local people who might
otherwise not have a Thanksgiving dinner. While we’re in service we also have a
great time, so be a part of this important mission. Contact Jeff Schroeder.
